More about our Founders

Kosta Kantilaftis

A passionate and driven second generation mechanic. Having opened my workshop at the ripe age of 21, the business grew to a 7 figure yearly turnover with continuous growth until it was sold in June 2019. This has allowed me to pursue other ventures and run a new mechanic business as well as teach the next generation of technicians through a part time training role.

I keep abreast of current trends by regularly attending automotive training Australia wide. I previously hosted multiple training events at my workshop for local and interstate technicians to encourage networking and promote education. Establishing The Garage Network comes from a desire to give back to our industry and help connect technicians Australia wide.

Jeff Taylor

I have been in the automotive repair industry since 1997 after leaving school in the North West of the UK.

Always having a passion for VW/AUDI iserved my time working for a busy independent workshop from apprentice to the controller. After many years I wanted to venture out and I started my own workshop. A busy local garage specialising in VW/AUDI and ECU tuning until 2017 when my Fiancé and I took the plunge to move to Sydney Australia.

I am a director of Sydney Eco Tuning. As my job allows me to travel across Sydney and surrounding areas I saw The Garage Network an excellent way for workshops to network.

Mike Carnemolla

The Carnemolla family has been servicing motor vehicles for the community in the Drummoyne -Russell Lea areas for almost 100 years spanning 3 generations.

I joined the family business as a motor mechanic apprentice at the age of 17, now with over 25 years experience. In 2013, I started 313 Automotive, in a brand new purpose built workshop, still at the same site in Russell Lea. Our business has grown with now 6 full time staff. I have extended my mechanical experience to include Advanced Diagnostics in Hybrid Vehicles and Marine mechanical.

In 2018, we received the Canada Bay Council Sustainability Award and our workshop is MTA Green stamp Carbon Footprint neutral.

Peter Leondis

From an early age, I was exposed to all things mechanical, being led into the workshop environment as a child by my father Leo. Kensington Brake And Mechanical Service was acquired by Leondis Automotive in 2012, a unique modern workshop, equipped with the latest in diagnostic software and workshop tools.

The workshop moved to the larger premises at Robert Street Rozelle, which has seen strong growth . In 2019, the Company started its second shop, Sutherland Automotive. I have attributed much of this growth to key, core values, and has instilled these in company policies, processes, and the extended team.

I believe that these core values have formed the foundation of the company and will continue to be the cornerstone of future development.
